Meet Hamila Asil:
Hamila is a comprehensive school counselor at Shanghai Community International School (SCIS), where she has been supporting students for the past two years. Originally raised in Iran and France, she moved to Australia after high school, where she earned an undergraduate degree in Business, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching, and a master’s degree in Counseling. After living in Australia for two decades, she relocated to Shanghai to broaden her experience in an international school environment and to continue her passion for student wellbeing and holistic development.
Established in 1996, Shanghai Community International School was one of the first international schools in Shanghai. What began as a single campus in the heart of Changning District, with seven teachers and fewer than 50 students, has since grown into a thriving community of over 1,500 students across three campuses.
