A CUE LIFE TRANSITION SERIES
Welcome to 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐛, a space designed to meet learners where they are and who they are. We believe that real learning starts not with rules, but with honest questions about self, values, relationships, boundaries, and the worlds we move through. This is not a course. It’s a reflective journey into connection, agency, and care.
The Consent Lab is made up of the Introduction and five modules, each composed of bite-sized, 10–15 minute sessions. It is a 6-hour learning experience, designed to suit learners’ rhythm and pace. Every module contains multimedia stories, interactive elements and practical tools, all rooted in real-world contexts, and designed for easy absorption and real-life application. Learners will meet characters, unpack scenarios, and walk away with language and awareness they can carry into their daily lives.
In the opening section, learners are warmly welcomed to the Lab and introduced to the journey ahead. We begin by exploring why sexual consent matters, not only in legal terms but deeply within emotional, social, and relational contexts. This foundation invites learners to connect personally with the topic. Finally, a clear course outline sets the path forward, guiding them step-by-step through an engaging and meaningful learning experience.
Session:
1) General Introduction
2) Why is sexual consent important
3) Course outline
Every transition starts from within. In this first module, we invite learners to pause and reflect on who they are becoming. They will explore how stepping into a new chapter of life awakens questions about identity, boundaries, and belonging. This is a space to get grounded — emotionally, intellectually, and relationally — before navigating the external world. Through personal reflection and story-based exploration, learners begin building the foundation for self-awareness, which is key to practicing meaningful consent.
Sessions:
1) A New Life Chapter
2) Emerging Adulthood
3) Personal Boundary
New environments bring new dynamics, and sometimes, unexpected challenges. In Module 2, learners turn their attention outward to the places and people around them. From the cultural codes of our host country to the ways learners’ surroundings shape behaviour, this module helps them notice, interpret, and respond to their environment with more clarity. It begins to unpack how consent is deeply contextual, influenced by norms, signals, and unspoken expectations.
Session:
1) A New Environment
2) Host Country Culture
3) Sexual Consent 101
No one arrives in a relationship empty-handed. We all carry values, beliefs, and emotional templates shaped by culture, family, and experience. In this module, we invite learners to step into a wider lens, one that holds intricacy with no judgment. From cross-cultural differences to cultural shame, this is a space to examine what our lenses are and how they shape our understanding of autonomy and intimacy. Insight is the first step to transformation.
Session:
1) Intercultural Framework
2) Sex Shame
3) Bodily Autonomy
In new communities, peer relationships often become the space where consent is most tested and most needed. This module explores how group dynamics, social pressure, and dominant narratives can cloud our judgment of a situation and affect our boundaries. Learners will reflect on how power plays out in everyday life: from dorm rooms to parties, peers to intimate relationships.
Session:
1) Peer Dynamics
2) Rape Culture
3) Drug and Alcohol Culture
Real learning lives in action. In this final module, we bring together the knowledge, awareness, and reflection our learners have cultivated throughout the course. Local resources are also provided for future learning and emergencies. Learners will be reminded that consent is not a one-time topic but a lifelong practice, shaped by understanding, courage, and continuous learning. This is not the end. It’s a new beginning.
Session:
1) Stories of Consensual Sex
2) Practical Local Resources
3) Ending Note
We gave this learning space the name of “The Consent Lab” because consent isn’t something we learn once and memorize; it’s something we explore, discuss, reflect on, and explore more. Just like in a laboratory, this space invites curiosity, experimentation, and discovery. By calling it a “lab,” we remind learners that their experiences matter, their questions are valid, and growth happens when we feel safe enough to explore. Consent is communication, and The Consent Lab is where that conversation begins.
The Consent Lab is currently under construction. Still, we would like to share with you what’s happening in our studio right now. We aim to finish production by the end of 2026. Stay tune!

Did you know? The Consent Lab began as a single conversation in 2019, at the KIT Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
At first glance, The Consent Lab may feel like just another course — or perhaps a beautifully paced learning experience, with short episodes, relatable stories, and interactive moments. Behind every element, though, lies a deeper intention.
The real secret?
Consent 101 focuses on laws and morals. Consent 201 dives deeper into boundaries, desires, agreement, fear, hesitation, questions, power, peer dynamics, and more. It’s more well-rounded, more human.
But students don’t arrive at these topics from nowhere. They arrive from adolescence, from silence or sex-positive conversations, from rape culture or consent culture, from local or global values, from personal histories, family dynamics, and collective memory.
That’s why CUE offers Consent 301, a contextualized learning space for self-inquiry, recognition, and redefinition.
We never set out to “teach consent.” We can’t. Consent cannot be handed down. It cannot be instructed into being.
Our role is to open the door, to create a space where students can arrive more fully as themselves, more freely to converse with their inner voice, and more consciously to embody what consent truly means.
That’s the designer’s secret. That’s what makes this Lab different.
Integrating the Consent Lab into your institution’s digital ecosystem is fast, flexible, and requires little technical setup on your end. Here’s how it works:
You’ll receive a plug-and-play package that can be uploaded directly into your institution’s Learning Management System (LMS), such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, or others.
Your IT or instructional design team can upload the package in minutes. No custom coding or technical development is required.
Upon request, we provide anonymized participation data and completion rates to help your institution track engagement, inform programming, and report on learning impact.
While most institutions prefer to host The Consent Lab on their own Learning Management System (LMS), we also offer the option for students to access the program directly through CUE’s secure learning platform. This is ideal for institutions seeking a quick setup with minimal technical involvement. Students simply receive a unique link and complete the program at their own pace — no installation or integration required.

The Lab is crafted as a semester-long, low-lift yet high-impact learning journey that integrates smoothly into existing student life programming. The Student Affairs Office and Residence Life teams are ideally positioned to bring this experience to the campus community. Its impact can be amplified when paired with complementary on-campus workshops, awareness campaigns, or residence hall discussions, creating richer opportunities for engagement and reflection. To maximize impact, the Lab should be introduced early, ideally right when freshmen come in.

Rather than a one-off training, the Consent Lab offers Student Wellness Centers and Sexual Violence Prevention Offices an opportunity to sustain consent literacy over time. The Lab acts as a thread, keeping students engaged with the nuances of consent, boundaries, and relational well-being. Based on the Lab's content, you can host additional learning circles, discussion sessions, or student-led events. Use your existing communication channels to invite learners who resonate with the material to join a deeper track—or even become campus ambassadors for consent culture.

Integrated within your institution’s digital wellness ecosystem, the Lab offers a developmentally relevant and culturally attuned consent learning experience. It can be seamlessly embedded as a standalone module within student apps, health dashboards, or self-guided wellness libraries. Accessible anytime on phones or laptops, the Lab provides instant personalized feedback and connects learners to campus resources such as counseling services, health blogs, and sexual health clinics—enhancing support and engagement through digital convenience.
The Consent Lab was built in a space of uncertainty, a question mark hanging over whether institutions were ready to embrace this kind of learning. But we built it anyway. Not because we were sure of the outcome, but because we were certain of the need. Some things are worth creating before the world fully understands why.
We are always seeking passionate, talented people to contribute to growing CUE. If you’re interested in the opportunity to use your unique expertise and skills to make a social impact, contact us with your CV and tell us what you’d be able to bring to our business!
